Sounds like fun. I might want to break off after Dory and head to the beach for a few minutes. Depends on the wind at Dory. |

This one sounds good, too. I'm not familiar with Rite-Aid, other than that it's on Liberty Street. Where will we meet there?

Rite Aid is right at the base of the bridge to West Salem which is why we usually start there any time we need to cross the bridge. Rite Aid MapEric, after the Dory, if we are all up for it we could go to Tierra Del Mar as part of the ride. It is a short hop and is right on the ocean. This would only add about 25 minutes to the trip I already had plotted out (which was just a suggestion anyway). Tierra Del Mar Route |

Sounds good to me Glenn.
Martie, We usually meet on the west side of that parking lot. Usually straight out from the doors of Rite-Aid and on the other side of the lot from the doors. You will be able to see the hundreds of bikes going on the ride... Or more like the 3 or 4 that usually go. You never know though. See ya then.
I should have a new front tire so I will be slowly taking up the rear on this ride. |

Thanks Eric. You might miss seeing me since I'll probably in the middle of the hundreds of bikes... I'll probably leave the house between 9 and 9:15 in case you are thinking of making a go/no go post. |

We are a GO for the ride today!
Current weather is clear but cold. Only 41 degrees at 6:00am.
We will be hitting the coast around 11:15am and it is predicted to be 55 degrees at that time.
For the trip home around 12:30pm (or so depending on how long we take for lunch) it should be about 61 degrees.
PLEASE DRESS WARM We will be passing over the mountain and the temperature will drop some. It won't get too cold but that is all relative. It is much better to dress warm because you can always unzip your jacket if you get too hot. Once you are cold, you are done for. I have my long johns on. |

Fantastic ride! Thanks so much to all of you for showing up! And thanks Geoff (and family) for having lunch for us during your time at the beach. It was great! Sorry that I started getting tired at the end. Got up way too early then being in the lead so long plus watching Mindy just takes it out of me. 6 bikes out was a lot. The road back is one I had only done a couple times for the first part and spotting the gravel was getting pretty tough in spots. But again, it was a blast! I too had a great time. Thank you all for coming. I didn't take many pictures and all I had was my cell phone so these didn't turn out so well but I thought I would share anyway. Hope to see you all on the next ride very soon. We are getting quite a group. http://picasaweb.google.com/ezyeric/Ride_03_06_2010#slideshow/5445922067842638978 |

Hey Gary,
Was that your bike I saw at Cycle Country on Friday? That sure is a sweet looking bike. You still got the apes and that nice flame paint job?

If it was the 1800 with apes and flames yes it was mine. Had them putting on tires for me so I am ready to ride for the year. Thanks for the compliment it has been a lot of work and money but I like the way it turned out. The apes added a lot of comfort to the ride. |
